Don't scrimp on time or effort at the end - makes all the difference in the world to a professional result.
Vickieafcahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01327189080611033972noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6339310995851192437.post-41567958415918441132014-04-05T18:39:41.926-04:002014-04-05T18:39:41.926-04:00What a great video! I'm very new at this and love seeing that it's ok to mush, squish and not be perfect with the edges :) and your end results with the bone is beautiful!Heathernoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6339310995851192437.post-56742849529530750302013-01-14T19:22:44.465-05:002013-01-14T19:22:44.465-05:00Merci beaucoup, Louise.Merci beaucoup, Louise.Vickieafcahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01327189080611033972noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6339310995851192437.post-61066941556324830352013-01-14T18:37:50.673-05:002013-01-14T18:37:50.673-05:00Encore un succès Vickie!Encore un succès Vickie!Louisenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6339310995851192437.post-50811461648902661782013-01-12T20:57:32.025-05:002013-01-12T20:57:32.025-05:00Hi Jay, I'm sorry I can't see your work on...Hi Jay, I'm sorry I can't see your work online. If you ever have a photo of a piece that you would like to send me I would be happy to publish it on the blog. Think about it. When you do your "chime" piece, let me know how it turned out (and take a picture - I'm afraid I can be a bit of a persistent pest, lol!) I'm glad you like the ivory. I agree, the yellow gives it a much mellower tone than just ecru or beige. I'm working on showing you how I make the bracelet above. All the best, VickieVickieafcahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01327189080611033972noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6339310995851192437.post-52492877253532331032013-01-12T20:53:27.149-05:002013-01-12T20:53:27.149-05:00Hi Katina, I'm glad you found it useful. You can only get so much by reading and looking at pictures. Have fun!
Vickieafcahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01327189080611033972noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6339310995851192437.post-20203261617510418272013-01-12T03:35:42.806-05:002013-01-12T03:35:42.806-05:00Hi Vickie,

I like your faux bone because it looks like something that was really 'unearthed' rather than made. Also I like your ivory with the bit of yellow in it. Many people don't use it, but it looks more natural and aged to me. Great beads and that bracelet looks like it was made from the bone of something really big, like you wouldn't want to run into.Nice design on the side too.

I'm sorry Vickie, but I don't have a website or store. I just do this for a hobbie and pastime. I seldom sell anything. I just make things with certain people in mind and give it to them on a special occasion. Sometimes just for no occasion, just for fun. I'm working on that idea of 'sound jewelry' I mentioned before. I don't think I can get polymer clay to 'ring', but I did think of putting a chime of sorts inside of a artifact looking tubular shaped bone thing. You wouldn't see what was making the noise. I need to sleep on this one.
Thank you for sharing your techniques.
Take care, Jay Jayhttp://yahoo.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6339310995851192437.post-16290393572773073872013-01-10T04:27:09.408-05:002013-01-10T04:27:09.408-05:00Hi Vickie-
